Student National Medical Association is a pre-professional health organization that was established back in 1964 and still exists today for students who wish to be a part of their ever growing community. It is composed of 10 different regions through out the country, and Temple's SNMA falls into the the MAPS chapter of Region 8. The Student National Medical Association at Temple University is committed to ensuring that students of color are encouraged to consider and prepare for medical and scientific careers. Members are informed of summer and post-baccalaureate programs for premedical students, test taking strategies to enhance study skills and advice regarding the professional school application process. We participate in many events to help our members become more integrated and involved with the community and other schools and organizations. On a national level, SNMA is the nation's oldest and largest student organization dedicated to people of color and under served communities. With over 160 chapters across the nation, membership is open to all students who are serious about healthcare and wish to make a difference and a unique contribution regarding the health and well being of people of color. We hope that our website serves your needs.
